GOP presidential hopeful Steve Forbes has spent a considerable amount of time and money campaigning in Iowa, while Arizona Sen. John McCain has largely avoided the state. Yet, a recent University of Iowa poll indicates that Mccain is nipping at Forbes' heels, while he trails front-running Texas Gov. George W. Bush by 50 percentage points.
In an interview with CNN's Judy Woodruff on CNN's "Inside Politics" Tuesday, Forbes rejected the poll's findings and instead asserted that his Iowa campaign is going strong. "We have a superb grass roots organization and after the turn of the year, we're going to do really well," he said.
Political campaigns "have their rhythm," Forbes said, adding that there is "always a Cinderella."
