(CNN) -- Historically, airports and air traffic controllerss have had to solve traffic problems with computer models or on the fly.

Now, NASA and the Federal Aviation Administration is teaming up to make a virtual airport in order to test solutions in a realistic environment. CNN's Kim Hunter reports.
