At least 3 dead following bus crash in Colorado
High school seniors were traveling home to HoustonDecember 22, 1999 CANON CITY, Colorado (CNN)-- At least three people were killed and dozens injured after a church bus, carrying mostly teenagers, went off an icy highway and rolled at least three times down an embankment late Tuesday night. Colorado State Patrol spokesman Ron Loven says the bus was carrying 57 people. The accident occurred around 9 p.m.(MT) near Parkdale, Colorado, about 90 miles southwest of Denver. The bus was transporting senior high school students from Houston back home from a skiing trip at Crested Butte in western Colorado. The students were on a church retreat from Winwood Presbyterian and Bethel Independent Presbyterian churches located in Houston.
