COSTA MESA, California (CNN)-- Former NBA player Dennis Rodman has been arrested on suspicion of drunken driving, according to Sgt. Don Holford of the Costa Mesa Police Department.

Early Wednesday evening, Rodman left a bar at the South Coast Plaza mall, driving a Bentley with a male and female passenger, Holford said. Police received a tip from mall security personnel that Rodman had been seen leaving the bar after drinking, according to Holford.

A Costa Mesa police officer pulled him over after noting that one of his passengers was not wearing a seatbelt, Holford said.

After he was pulled over, Rodman was given a field sobriety test which he failed; he was then arrested on suspicion of drunken driving, Holford said. Neither of the passengers was taken into custody.
