NAIROBI, Kenya (CNN) -- The case of Elinah Muthoni -- a Kenyan mother who was jailed for "stealing" her hospitalized husband's cow after she sold it to help feed her four children -- sparked a heated debate over women's rights in the East African country.

Muthoni's conviction was recently overturned. She is now a free woman and the owner of a new cow -- donated by a company that sympathized with her plight. But Muthoni's court victory was bittersweet, as our video report reveals.
