NEWARK, New Jersey (CNN) -- New Jersey gets no respect. People look at the aging industrial ugliness planted along the Jersey Turnpike as if that's all there is to the Garden State. But the state also boasts a diverse political landscape -- which is why presidential hopefuls Texas Gov. George W. Bush and Vice President Al Gore may have their work cut out for them when it comes to tending the state's sometimes wily voters.
