Details about the timing and topic of her speech are still being worked out, said Doug Hattaway, a spokesman for Vice President Al Gore's presidential campaign.
Schlossberg, 42, is one of the most private members of the Kennedy clan, and has kept her involvement in politics to a minimum.
She is the oldest child and only daughter of President John Kennedy and Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis. She lives in New York City with her husband, museum designer Edwin Schlossberg, and their three children.
A graduate of Harvard University and Columbia University Law School, she has co-authored two books -- "In Our Defense: The Bill of Rights in Action" and "The Right to Privacy."
Kennedy Schlossberg's brother, John F. Kennedy Jr., won generally strong reviews for his speech to the Democratic Convention in 1988. He kept up a high public profile and published the political magazine George until his death in a plane crash one year ago.
