New York Post endorses Lazio

NEW YORK, New York (CNN) -- The New York Post has endorsed Rep. Rick Lazio for the Senate.

In its endorsement, which was released Saturday, the paper said Lazio "has built a remarkable record during his eight years in Congress."

Lazio is in a tight race with first lady Hillary Clinton for the seat of retiring Sen. Daniel Patrick Moynihan.

The Post gave Lazio positive marks on a list of subjects ranging from health care to international affairs.

The press release ended with the newspaper urging its readers to vote for Lazio, citing his his ability to "serve his constituents well."
