TOKYO (CNN) -- New Japanese Prime Minister Yoshiro Mori has announced a plan for succession should something happen to him while he's in office.
The plan is a response to criticism over the political confusion that surrounded the sudden illness of Mori's predecessor, Prime Minister Keizo Obuchi, who suffered a stroke earlier this month and remains in a coma.
Meanwhile, Mori also said he's determined to become as popular as Obuchi and will work to continue his policies.
