Web posted at: 3:52 PM HKT (0752 GMT)

MANILA, Philippines (Reuters) -- Eleven school children were buried alive while three were injured in landslides in the northern Philippines, officials said on Friday.

The children were walking home from school in Apayao province on Wednesday when the landslides from two mountains, caused by soil erosion, struck them, the civil defense in Manila said.
