Online interviewFather of Columbine victim reflects on tragedy that changed his life(CNN) - Although he thinks Columbine victims' families were mistreated by the Jefferson County, Colorado sheriff's office, the father of one of the victims says he is focusing not on what went wrong but on preventing such a tragedy from happening again. Darrell Scott's daughter, Rachel, was one of 12 students and one teacher killed by Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold on April 20, 1999. In an interview with CNN Legal Analyst Greta Van Susteren, Scott criticizes the sherriff's department for being insentive to the victims' families, but applauds the emergency workers on the scene after the massacre. He says he has tried to inspire a "positive change" in young people by creating the Columbine Redemption Foundation, co-writing a book called Rachel's Tears, and launching "Rachel's Journal," a monthly magazine containing entries from his daughter's diaries. CNN Legal Analyst Greta Van Susteren is Law Center Chief Legal Adviser and co-host of 'Burden of Proof' RELATED STORIES: Report: 12 killed at Columbine in first 16 minutes | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
