CHICAGO, Illinois (CNN) -- Chicago police are searching for four people who shot at a rabbi in what authorities are calling a possible hate crime.

The rabbi was sitting in his car in a largely Jewish neighborhood in the Rogers Park area of the city when the four pulled along side him in a black, older-model Chevy Blazer, witnesses told police.

"They called him by name and opened fire," Officer Kevin Haley said. They drove off after firing "about four shots."

No one was hurt in the attack and no arrests have been made.

Police are withholding the name of the rabbi.

"It's just a possible hate crime," Haley said. "They're still investigating."

The shooting is one of two attacks on Jews in the neighborhood Thursday night.

Earlier, three or four men in a van shot marbles at a group of Jews with a slingshot. No one was hurt.

Police arrested a 14-year-old and two 17-year-olds who said they are Palestinians. Their van allegedly contained marbles, sling shots and hate literature, Haley said.
