(CNN) -- Reptiles have always had a problem when it comes to their image. The mere thought of the cold-blooded creatures is enough to make some people cringe. In its new exhibit, the New York Hall of Science is trying to give some class to a class of creature that is often misunderstood.
Among the reptiles on exhibit: a 40-foot-long diamondback rattlesnake and a giant snapping turtle. Fortunately for visitors, the creatures are not real. They are part of a robotic display designed to educate the public on how reptiles survive in the wild.
