Raving the new film rage
The rave is suddenly the rage in Hollywood. Three films exploring the underground dance and music scene are showing in theaters now. "Electronic music is at its core, played by DJs, and it's very much about coming together around the music and the dance," said director Greg Harrison, whose "Groove" features revelers who meet up at an all-night dance party in San Francisco. Rave clubs aren't drug havens, said Harrison. "I wanted to just present truthfully the various experience people have at a party like this, whether they taking drugs or not," he said. "A lot of characters aren't." Also in theaters are "Better Living Through Circuitry," a documentary about the electronic culture, and "Human Traffic," a comedy which takes a look at five friends who spend their weekends raving. CNN Entertainment Correspondent Jodi Ross takes a look at the new rave film phenomenon. RELATED SITES: Better Living Through Circuitry |
