NEW YORK, New York -- (CNN) With their dyed hair and colorful tattoos, the punk rockers of the band Eve 6 have a way of getting noticed.

After signing their first record deal while still in high school, the members of the Los Angeles, California-based group recently released their second album, "Horrorscope," which is shooting up the charts.

The band, named for a character on an episode of "The X-Files," also has a knack for hyperbole.

"We were just thinking about making the best rock record ever recorded, which we successfully did, I think," bass player Max Collins said. "We made our generation's version of 'The White Album.'"
