Report: Perry Farrell plans Israeli Freedom Fest
Perry Farrell, former frontman for Jane's Addiction and Porno For Pyros, is planning a music festival in the Israeli desert next spring, Billboard.com reports.
The event will feature some of the "world's most honored and progressive musicians, top dance culture DJs, world culture artists, and dancers," according to a statement. The lineup is expected to be announced soon.
Besides music, Farrell also envisions art exhibits, extreme sports, bazaars and hot-air ballooning at the event. Live television, radio, and Internet broadcasts are planned, and 50,000 concertgoers are expected.
Farrell has experience planning events of this magnitude. He was one of the brains behind the annual Lollapalooza festival in the early '90s.
His solo debut, "The Diamond Jubilee," is due early next year on Virgin Records.
