LOS ANGELES -- Rolling Stone Mick Jagger and his 16-year-old daughter Elizabeth failed to make the final cut on U2's latest release. The Jaggers sang back-up vocals for the song "Stuck in a Moment," off the album "All That you Can't Leave Behind."

The Edge, who plays guitar for the Irish band, told Reuters the song "took a different direction," and the band decided to use an alternate mix. But he praised the father-daughter duo for adding their creative input.

"They came in, we placed them some stuff. It was nice to hear it through their ears," said the Edge, whose real name is Dave Evans. "So we just wanted to say thanks to them for their generosity, really, just coming in and giving us their opinion about how they thought it was going."

The band plans to send a copy of the original mix to the Jaggers, who also get credit in the liner notes.

"All That You Can't Leave Behind" is U2's tenth album. It's scheduled to be released internationally on October 30 and a day later in the United States. U2 is talking about a world tour, beginning in the United States this spring, to promote the album.
