U2 readies for takeoffThe making of 'Beautiful Day'
PARIS, France (CNN) -- U2's album "All That You Can't Leave Behind" releases Monday in the United Kingdom, but the lead single, "Beautiful Day," already has topped the charts there. The song is about a man who is utterly happy, despite losing everything. The setting for an accompanying video needed to be "natural, organic," lead singer Bono says. A terminal at Paris' Charles De Gaulle Airport fit the bill. Swedish director Jonas Akerlund, who's behind such videos as Madonna's "Ray of Light" and Metallica's "Turn the Page," took the helm. Daniel Lanois and Brian Eno, who helped produce "All That You Can't Leave Behind," also collaborated on the video. CNN WorldBeat goes to the runway to bring you the making of "Beautiful Day."
