Eagles trump Jackson; release box set

WASHINGTON -- Michael Jackson has lost the thrill of having the best-selling album. The Eagles' "Their Greatest Hits 1971-1975" has replaced Jackson's "Thriller" at the top of the list, selling more than 27 million copies by October 31, according to the Recording Industry Association of America.
Jackson's album had sold 26 million copies by the end of last month, the RIAA reported.
The Eagles' overall album sales should see a spike when the band on Tuesday releases its first box set, "The Eagles: Selected Works 1972-1999." That same day, it's making 12 tracks available for free download.
Those songs include live versions of "Hotel California," "Victim Of Love," "Take It To The Limit," "All She Wants To Do Is Dance" and "Best Of My Love." The band is making them available at Amazon.com, Barnes and Noble.com, TWEC.com, CDNow!, Borders.com, Checkout.com, Tower Records.com, and Musicland.com.
