DJ Fatboy Slim and his wife, Zoe Ball, have named their first son Woody

LONDON, England -- Top British DJ Norman "Fatboy Slim" Cook and his TV presenter wife Zoe Ball are the proud parents of a baby boy named Woody.

Ball, 30, who had been due to give birth on Christmas Eve, gave birth to the 9lb youngster on Friday by elective Caesarean at London's Portland hospital.

The former Radio One Breakfast Show presenter's agent Vivienne Clore told the UK Press Association: "Everyone is well and very excited and happy.

"They are thrilled and delighted at their first joint production. Norman is over the moon and so are the rest of the family."

She added: "There are various different reasons why they like the name, but he is not named after any particular Woody or any particular cartoon character.

"The name just appeals to them."

Ball's father, former children's TV presenter Johnny Ball, who was at the hospital, said: "They are both absolutely tremendous. He is as fit as a fiddle. It's thrilling.

"Zoe said he's got our ears and our noses as well, poor soul. There were a few tears and a bottle of champagne."

Ball and Cook, 37, revealed they wanted to name their child Woody in September, when a spokeswoman said it was a name they both liked.

There was speculation they had been inspired by New York comic Woody Allen, former Cheers star Woody Harrelson, the cartoon Woody Woodpecker, or Woody the Cowboy from Disney's animated movie Toy Story.
