(CNN) -- Billy Gilman may be only 12 years old, but he has already built an impressive musical resume.
The pre-teen has been singing since the age of 3 and released his platinum-selling album "One Voice" this year. His single by the same name rose to the top spot, edging out Brenda Lee to become the youngest person to ever have a song on Billboard Magazine's country singles chart. He has also released a Christmas album, "Classic Christmas."
Raised in Rhode Island, Gilman grew up listening to "classic country," citing Tammy Wynette, George Jones and Eddie Arnold as influences.
Gilman recently performed his new single "Oklahoma" for Showbiz Today.
