Elvis Costello goes HollywoodHOLLYWOOD, California -- Listen up, Gisele, Kate and Naomi. Forget trying to be the next "model-turned-actress" -- try "model-turned-rocker" on for size. The WB network has signed rockers Elvis Costello and T-Bone Burnett to create an hour-long comedy-drama about four ex-models turned rock stars. Costello will write an original song for each episode. Costello envisions his rockers embarking on some far-out missions -- literally. "They go into outer space, they rescue people from dastardly dictators -- and they play songs," he told Variety magazine. Costello said he's not ruling out the occasional cameo. "Maybe I'll pop up as a villain. Or a flunkie." The show is scheduled to debut in fall 2001. Will Smith, Jada Pinkett welcome daughterLOS ANGELES, California -- Actor Will Smith and wife Jada Pinkett got a special 6-pound, 10-ounce treat this Halloween. Pinkett gave birth to daughter Willow Camille Reign Smith on Tuesday, said Smith's publicist. The couple has a two-year-old son, Jaden, and Smith has a son, Trey, from a previous marriage. Smith and Pinkett are busy working parents: She's currently in movie theaters as a TV executive in Spike Lee's latest film, "Bamboozled," a satire about racism in the entertainment business, while Smith's new film, "The Legend of Bagger Vance," opens this weekend. Britney to host awards showLOS ANGELES, California -- For those people who may have missed Britney Spears taking it all off (almost) at the recent MTV Video Music Awards, don't fear -- you may get another chance. The teen pop sensation, who performed a sexy striptease routine during the MTV awards show, has been tapped to host the American Music Awards in January. The 28th annual American Music Award show is scheduled to take place on January 8 at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles. Nominations will be announced on November 13. TV audiences set to get a load of 'Hooters'HOLLYWOOD, California -- For men hoping to keep abreast of the dating scene, they can tune into "Who Wants To Date a Hooters Girl?" next fall. The half-hour gameshow, hosted by comedian George Gray, will feature six men who compete in games for the ultimate prize: A date with a genuine Hooters girl. The show is themed around the Hooters restaurant chain, where scantily-clad waitresses serve chicken wings and pitchers of beer. The late-night dating show is scheduled to begin airing in fall 2001 in broadcast syndication.
