NEW YORK -- Jerry Seinfeld is going to have to start dealing with temper tantrums, late nights and horrific whining -- and not from his friend George Costanza. The actor-comedian has entered fatherhood. His wife, Jessica Sklar, gave birth to girl at an undisclosed New York hospital on Tuesday, according to Elizabeth Clark, Seinfeld's spokeswoman. The couple named the baby Sascha. "Both parents and baby are doing great," Clark said. She would not reveal any more details. Seinfeld, 46, and his wife, Jessica Sklar, 29, wed in December. LOS ANGELES, California -- Camryn Manheim, the Emmy-award winning actress who stars on the ABC legal drama, "The Practice," is pregnant, reports People magazine. Manheim's manager confirmed the actress is pregnant with her first child, a boy, and that she is due in April. She said the actress, 39, was "not speaking about the father." Manheim plans to raise the child as a single mother. The news comes one week after Manheim's character on the show, Ellenor Frutt, became pregnant on the show, along with the character of Lindsey Dole, portrayed by actress Kelli Williams. Williams is also pregnant in real-life. 'Trouble with Normal' in trouble
HOLLYWOOD, California -- The ABC comedy "Trouble with Normal" has a problem: It's been yanked from the air for the rest of November sweeps. The network refused to say "Normal" was dead, although it has yet to officially schedule a December return date. The ratings challenged show revolves around four paranoid New Yorkers and their shrink. ABC will air a second original episode of "Two Guys and a Girl" at 8:30 p.m. EST in place of "Normal." 'Mall Masters' lands on Game Show NetworkHOLLYWOOD, California -- Look out shoppers: "Mall Masters" is coming to a TV near you. The Game Show Network has ordered 65 episodes of the program, which will be shot at Minneapolis' Mall of America. Shoppers will be polled on their opinions on a variety of subjects. Contestants will compete with each other to pick the majority opinions. The show also features categories named after shops in the mall, and the questions asked will reflect each store's theme. Once a category is chosen, an interactive "Mall Cam" will relay assistance to contestants from the store for which the category is named. The show is scheduled to debut in 2001. 'Conan' getting ready to ride...againNEW YORK -- "Conan the Barbarian" didn't conquer enough his first time around, so he's coming back for more. Warner Bros. bought the rights to the original film and plans to make a new version, written and directed by John Milius. Milius wrote and directed the original "Conan," which was released in 1982 and starred Arnold Schwarzenegger. Milius has talked to the actor about appearing in the new movie in some capacity. Larry and Andy Wachowski, the writer/director brothers of "The Matrix," will co-create the concept with Milius and are eyeing directing the second unit on the film. 'Matthew Shepard Story' comes to NBC
HOLLYWOOD, California -- NBC has ordered a script for "The Matthew Shepard Story," a two-hour TV movie based on the events surrounding the murder of the gay college student. Actress Goldie Hawn is developing the movie through her production company, Cherry Alley Productions. The movie will recount the events surrounding Shepard's death from the perspective of his mother, who has given her blessing to the project. Shepard was tied to a fence, beaten and left for dead in 1998 by two Wyoming men who said they believed Shepard had made sexual advances toward them in a bar. If the script is approved, NBC hopes to air the movie on by the end of the 2000-01 season. Both MTV and HBO are also developing pictures about the slaying, but neither project has been officially sanctioned by the Shepard family.
