Backstreet Boys bruise competition with 'Black & Blue'

graphic

HOLLYWOOD, California -- The Boys are back in town and they're selling some serious records. "Black & Blue," the Backstreet Boys' fourth album, sold 1.6 million copies in its debut week, blowing away its competitors.

The Boys unseated another all-boy band from the top spot. The Beatles album, "1," a compilation of the Fab Four's No. 1 hits, slipped to the No. 2 spot with 662,000 sold in its second week.

Country singer Tim McGraw grabbed the No. 3 spot with his own "Greatest Hits" album, with 306,000 copies sold in its first week.

Adrian Paul hunts up new action role

NEW YORK -- In his last TV series, actor Adrian Paul was immortal. This time, he's going back to the future with a new sci-fi action series.

Paul, best known for his role as Duncan MacLeod on the syndicated "Highlander," signed a seven-figure deal with Lions Gate Television to star in a futuristic action series that has yet to be named.

Paul will play an intergalactic bounty hunter going after fugitives set loose on a strange planet. The deal also guarantees Paul a starring role in a feature film.

Chilled Blaine thaws out, iCAST.com gets iced

The Web site that carried David Blaine's stunt, iCAST.com, has been iced

HOLLYWOOD, California -- Thanks to magician David Blaine and iCAST.com, watching ice melt has never been so much fun.

The Web site iCAST.com streamed three days of around-the-clock coverage of Blaine's latest stunt -- spending 62 hours encased in a block of ice in New York City's Times Square.

The Webcast boosted traffic on the site during the three-day period from about 100,000 visitors to nearly 1 million.

But unfortunately, it wasn't enough to keep the Web site from getting iced. Immediately after Blaine emerged from his icy tomb Wednesday, iCast.com shut down.

"We sincerely thank our users and partners for their past support, and we hope you've enjoyed the interactive entertainment content and services we delivered," read a message posted on the site.
