Jonathan Lipnicki knows that girls like him

Lipnicki

Child star of 'Jerry Maguire' guest-starring on 'Dawson's Creek'

(CNN) -- Millions first met Jonathan Lipnicki on "Jerry Maguire." He played little Ray Boyd, the one who shouted to Tom Cruise's character from the back seat, "Jerry, do you know the human head weighs eight pounds?"

Most recently, he was seen on the screen in the box-office hit, "Stuart Little."

Now he's heading to TV. Lipnicki, 9, is guest-starring in two episodes of WB's "Dawson's Creek" -- quite an accomplishment for someone who's so young he doesn't yet have all his teeth.

CNN's Showbiz Today anchor Jim Moret sat down with Lipnicki and talked about his career.

CNN: Tell us about your character in "Dawson's Creek."

JONATHAN LIPNICKI: Well, I am "Buzz," a really mean kid. And I have problems. Buzz -- he just can't kick that his dad went away with a younger woman.

CNN: This is very adult.

LIPNICKI: Yes.

CNN: First of all, I can't believe you'd play a mean kid.

LIPNICKI: I know, and he's just really mean to anyone. He doesn't care because he's just really mad over that.

CNN: Do you like being in a TV series as opposed to a movie?

LIPNICKI: Well, yes, I like being in it. But I like both, actually.

CNN: Do kids treat you differently because you are in movies?

LIPNICKI: Well, my friends are really nice to me, actually. They don't bother me one bit about that. But some other kids do. Like some, I don't know ...

CNN: Does it make you feel a little funny sometimes?

LIPNICKI: Yes, like, it feels like, "Please don't ask so many questions."

CNN: You mean, like I'm doing right now?

LIPNICKI: No.

CNN: OK. So this is OK, what I'm doing?

LIPNICKI: Yes, yes, yes.

CNN: OK. Go ahead.

LIPNICKI: Yes, yes.

CNN: I was getting a little uncomfortable. I don't want you to feel uncomfortable here. This is the most important question. When I told people that I was going to talk to you -- most of them were women or girls -- they all went, "Oh, Jonathan, I love Jonathan." That's what they said. They said, "I love Jonathan. I'm so excited, say hello for me." Do you like girls?

LIPNICKI: No, not really.

CNN: Not really.

LIPNICKI: Not yet.

CNN: Do you know that a lot of girls like you?

LIPNICKI: Kind of, yes.

CNN: Did you know that? Did your mom tell you about that?

LIPNICKI: Yes.

CNN: Does it make you feel uncomfortable?

LIPNICKI: Not really.

CNN: Good. Just be real cool. Who's your favorite actor?

LIPNICKI: Bruce Willis and Harrison Ford.

CNN: Tom Cruise?

LIPNICKI: Yes.

CNN: Because he'd be very upset if you didn't say that. Because you did work with him ... OK. Well, we're going to be watching you on "Dawson's Creek" and we're going to be looking for you in "The Little Vampire," coming out later this year.
