"The Millennium Star" was the centerpiece of the show, which took place during Paris haute couture week. At 203 carats, it's the largest, flawless pearl-shaped diamond known in existence.
Competing for attention were 29 award-winning designers from around the world, including Mexican jeweler Sergio Berger. His necklace "The Waterfall" features a cascade of 22,000 diamonds.
CNN's Peter Humi toured the vaults of the museum to ogle and admire.
