Money manicures

NEW YORK (CNN) -- Talk about having cash at your fingertips. The latest fad to make fingernails funky involves applying cut-up cash to the tips.

Here's how it works: The customer supplies the manicurist with the currency. (Some people use $1, $5 or even $100 bills.) The manicurist then cuts up the money, glues it on and applies a layer of acrylic to strengthen the nail.

As CNN's Jeanne Moos reports, they sure attract attention -- but not necessarily praise.
