CNN Style correspondent Elsa Klensch looks at Rodgriguez' spring and summer 2000 collection.
Rodriguez plays cool with color for summer
MILAN, Italy (CNN) -- Subtlety is the operative word for Narciso Rodriguez's spring/summer collection. He dabbles with a black-and-white palette, using streaks of color sparingly.
"It's a very stark collection," he says. "It's black, it's white and then (it's) strong shots of a very strong, strong hot pink ... and a very Chinese red. I just wanted those bright accents because there just seems to be way too much color all around."
Instead of concentrating on color, Rodriguez focuses on precise cuts, layered silhouettes and gentle beading. CNN's Elsa Klensch spoke with the designer about his new passion for prints.
