(IDG) -- Cabletron Systems on Monday took the wraps off a wireless connectivity offering that enables the use of high-bandwidth applications such as voice and video in outdoor environments.

The High Rate RoamAbout lets LAN users establish high-speed connections as fast as 11Mbps between buildings without installing cable or T1 lines. The product set can also be used to extend wired LANs or for the construction of an entirely wireless LAN, according to Cabletron.
