From... Electronically filing taxes made comfortable for Texas town
February 11, 2000 by Dan Caterinicchia (IDG) -- Microsoft Corp. has chosen Comfort, Texas, as the pilot site for the company's new TaxSaver software for electronically filing personal income taxes. Microsoft, based in Redmond, Wash., last week opened two "do it yourself" computerized tax centers in Comfort, where the town's 8,000 residents can take advantage of on-site help using the software and sign up for free tax seminars.
"The people of Comfort, Texas, want to be the most relaxed tax filers in America this year," said Chamber of Commerce president G.P. Shryer. "When everyone else is scrambling to get their taxes done this spring, we'll be sitting pretty."
