Washington State Department of Transportation recently launched rWeather to give people a resource to help them make informed travel decisions. The site is being beta tested and is scheduled for an official launch around April.

At the site, people can access real-time data from about 350 weather stations, traffic cameras and pass reports across the state. People can see warnings from the National Weather Service and both radar and satellite views of the state weather conditions.

The DOT plans to expand the service to allow people to see real-time reports on traffic incidents and current construction projects within more specific areas.

In addition to the DOT, the University of Washington and the Federal Highway Administration helped develop the site.
