Easing the chore of building Web forms
(IDG) -- If you've ever built Web forms to run surveys, you know what a tedious job it is. And if you're building forms for someone in another department and they can't make up their mind about exactly what they want, tedious will give way to aggravating in short order. SurveySolutions for the Web, from Perseus Development Corporation may well be the answer.
SurveySolutions makes the creation of complex Web surveys easy, and provides a rich set of tools for analyzing the results. At the front end is a word processor-like utility for building the forms, and the product includes an FTP client to upload the forms to your Web site. The survey form can be housed on your own server or on Perseus' own server (particularly useful if you don't want your surveyees to know who you are). The results from each survey can be either e-mailed to you or stored on the Web server. The server side requires a Perl script that Perseus provides (for free), but the firm also allows you to use the script on its server (also for free) to mail you the results. All this, and the product costs only $149! Wow.
