Researchers work on 'smarter' wheelchairs

(CNN) -- Thrown-out wheelchairs are the center of a University of Oklahoma project. Researchers are harvesting the old parts to develop wheelchairs that steer themselves, use sensors to avoid obstacles and can climb stairs.
