Phone glitch causes ticket, reservation problems at San Francisco airport
SAN FRANCISCO (CNN) -- A severed or "bruised" phone line is slowing reservations and ticket service at San Francisco International Airport, a spokesman said Thursday.
Spokesman Mike McCarron described the problem as minor with only short delays at this time.
The problem was noticed early Thursday morning when several airlines reported glitches in their computerized reservations systems. Airport duty managers are taking a survey of air carriers to determine the extent of the problem.
McCarron said Northwest Airlines is operating with about half of its normal lines. National Airlines agents are issuing handwritten tickets since all of their lines are down. United Airlines, one of the airport's largest carriers, has not reported any problems so far.
