Passenger's behavior prompts jetliner's landing in DenverJanuary 2, 2000 DENVER (CNN) -- A passenger's "unusual behavior" prompted a United Airlines flight to make an unscheduled landing Saturday night in Denver, where bomb-sniffing dogs searched the jetliner's cabin. The nonstop flight from Chicago to Los Angeles carried 195 people. The passengers waited while three dogs trained to sniff out explosives searched the cabin, said Denver police spokesman Chuck Cannon. No explosives were found. What the passenger did to cause the unexpected stop in Denver was not released early Sunday. The passenger was arrested by Denver police on landing, airline spokesman Kurt Ebenhoch said. Police and FBI agents were interviewing the man, Cannon said. The flight had been delayed for five hours due to mechanical problems before leaving Chicago. The remaining 178 passengers and 16 crew were expected to arrive in Los Angeles at 1:24 a.m. (4:24 a.m. EST) -- nearly eight hours after its scheduled arrival.
