There were 149 people on board the flight. No one was injured.

"The plane landed without incident, however a 'tug' had to come out and tow it to a gate," Suzanne Luber, Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport spokesperson told CNN.

"Right now a crew is looking over the plane," Luber said.

One passenger told CNN affiliate, KSAZ, the pilot instructed them on how to remove a window if necessary.

This is the second MD-80 series plane that has made an emergency landing at the Phoenix airport in the last two weeks.

An Alaska Airlines MD-80 crashed off southern California on January 31, killing all 88 people on board.
