DETROIT (CNN) -- With a hybrid diesel and electric engine that gets up to 72 miles per gallon and seats five people comfortably, the Dodge ESX3 is quite a find. But you won't find the sedan in showrooms, at least not yet.
The ESX3 is the latest in a series of experimental concept cars built as DaimlerChrysler, General Motors and Ford Motor work to meet a goal set by President Clinton in 1993 -- to build a practical and affordable family sedan that can get travel 80 miles on a gallon of gas.
