| Jetliner skids off runway into street; 3 injured3 injured as Boeing 737 strikes car
BURBANK, California (CNN) -- A Southwest Airlines 737 with 142 people aboard skidded off the end of a wet runway after landing Sunday night, smashed through a fence and ran out into a busy street, striking at least two cars. Police said three people -- a crew member and two passengers from the plane -- were taken to the hospital with injuries and a motorist was examined at the scene. None of the injuries were considered life-threatening. The jet came to a stop in the middle of the street, near a row of businesses, including a gas station. Three people were in the two cars struck -- just a driver in one, a couple in another. The Federal Aviation Administration said Southwest Flight 1455 had just arrived at Burbank Airport from Las Vegas carrying 137 passengers and a crew of five. Television pictures showed the plane covered in foam. It stopped just yards from several stores. Bob and Katie Glickman were in one of the cars that was hit by the jetliner. "I said to myself, 'Oh my God!. We're going to be hit by a plane' and ducked," Katie Glickman told CNN. "There was panic in the street. People thought the plane was going to explode."
