Text of statement from Greg Craig, the attorney for Juan Miguel Gonzalez
WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Greg Craig, the attorney for Juan Miguel Gonzalez, made the following statement Thursday: Juan Miguel Gonzalez is the father of Elian Gonzalez. Mr. Gonzalez -- and only Mr. Gonzalez -- has the legal and moral right to speak for Elian Gonzalez. The news media should know that Mr. Gonzalez has not given his permission or approval for any journalist to interview, photograph, film or broadcast his son. Elian Gonzalez has been exploited enough. We expect the media to respect this father's wishes and to forebear from any further direct media coverage of Elian in any way -- whether by interview, by TV camera, by photograph or by film.
