LINCOLN PARK, Michigan (CNN) -- A third person has died from bullet wounds suffered Tuesday when a gunman opened fire at a senior citizens' apartment building.

Mary Parsley died at 12:30 p.m. Friday, said a spokeswoman for Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit. Parsley, 55, had been shot twice.

Police have in custody Kenneth Miller Sr., 56, who lived at the complex, called Lincoln Park Towers. Miller was arrested following Tuesday's shooting, which happened as seniors at the apartment complex were meeting to discuss complaints about Miller's language.

The shooting began around noon Tuesday, said Phyllis McLenon, deputy director of the Lincoln Park Housing Commission.

The suspected gunman's son, Kenneth Miller Jr. of Ferndale, Michigan, said his father had been treated recently for depression and also was taking pain killers because of a bad back.

  MESSAGE BOARD

"All I know is that he was wrongly accused of some sort of sexual harassment, and that they were going to evict him from it, and that 18 other people signed a petition saying that he was very helpful there and a very nice guy, and that it was only a few who were trying to get him out of there, and I guess he just lost it," the son said.

Also killed were Marilyn Higgins, 48, a former Lincoln Park City Council member, and Alvita King, 70, who filed the complaint.
