| At least 5 killed in suburban Pittsburgh shootings
MONACA, Pennsylvania (CNN) -- A gunman killed at least five people and wounded one other in a two-county shooting spree that began at his neighbor's home, then moved to several area businesses owned by minorities, including Chinese and Koreans, police said. Two synagogues, Beth El synagogue and Ahavath Achim synagogue were also fired upon, said Lynn Roth, whose husband runs the center for worship at the Ahavath Achim synagogue. The suspect was apprehended about 1 1/2 hours after the shooting spree started, police said. Police identified the suspect as 35-year-old Richard Baumhammers, a resident of Mount Lebanon, Pennsylvania who was captured in neighboring Beaver County after a shooting there. One man was shot and killed in the parking lot of a strip mall in Monaca, a few miles northeast of Pittsburgh, said a dispatcher for Beaver County Police Department. A 25-year-old man was in critical condition at Mercy Hospital with a single gunshot wound to the back and neck, said a hospital spokeswoman. Another person was undergoing emergency surgery at Allegheny Medical Center, a spokeswoman said. His condition was not immediately known.
