Subjects both weighty and mundane prompt letters to the U.N. secretary-general

NEW YORK (CNN) -- The United Nations is used to receiving a steady stream of mail and when a world conflict heats up, the stream can become a flood -- up to 7,500 letters and e-mail messages a month.
In many cases, the mail is addressed to U.N. Secretary-General Kofi Annan. But not all of it deals with topics of international importance. Take that wedding invitation, for example.
