| Colorado wildfire 30 percent containedCRAIG, Colorado (CNN) -- A federal official said Friday that firefighters have contained 30 percent of a wildfire in Buster Flats, a remote section of northwest Colorado 20 miles south of the border with Wyoming. The fire had scorched 10,050 acres since being ignited by a lightning strike Monday, said Lynn Barclay, a member of the federal interagency management team fighting the fire. She predicted the fire, located 75 miles northwest of Craig, would be fully contained by Sunday night. Ridgetop winds of 35-40 mph in recent days have made fighting the fire difficult, Barclay said. Three to four tankers have been dropping retardant on the fire, but the winds have blown the retardant from its target, lessening its impact. "The winds have been a real control problem for us," she said. Another obstacle has been the rugged terrain. Many of the 220 firefighters have been ferried to the fire by helicopter. No one has been hurt. No structures have burned, and none is threatened, Barclay said. Campers who were evacuated earlier in the week from Lodore campground on Dinosaur National Monument have been allowed to return to the camp site, she said. Rafters along the popular Green River, who applied years ago for their rafting permits, have been allowed to travel on the water unimpeded, she said.
