SAN FRANCISCO (CNN) -- There's a type of road rage that has nothing to do with a moving vehicle. It happens after the car is parked.

After hearing horror stories of irate motorists abusing the men and women called meter maids, city officials in San Francisco have called for a crackdown on people who harass or harm the parking ticket writers.
