| Worker killed in Milwaukee crane accidentMILWAUKEE (CNN) -- A piece of crane broke free Wednesday at a dormitory construction site, slamming a worker in the chest and killing him 220 feet off the ground. Firefighters from Milwaukee's Heavy Urban Rescue Team (HURT) scaled the crane using its interior steps, carrying their equipment with them, to reach the victim. Lt. Terry Lintonen said some of the other construction workers had already begun performing CPR when they got to the man, who had suffered "blunt force trauma" to the chest. The 29-year-old was lowered to the ground in a basket, but he was pronounced dead at 4:45 p.m. EDT. The construction company was working on Sandburg Hall, a dormitory tower at the University of Wisconsin.
