| Army truck carrying explosives overturns in OklahomaHUGO, Oklahoma (CNN) -- A U.S. Army truck carrying explosives overturned on the Interstate 271 bypass just south of Interstate 70 early Thursday in Hugo, Oklahoma, spilling its cargo and injuring at least two people. Two injured military personnel were transported to Choctaw Memorial Hospital in Hugo, but the severity of their injuries was not known, said Capt. Gerald Davidson of the Oklahoma Highway Patrol. As a precaution, a 1-mile radius around the accident had been evacuated, including an elementary school several blocks away. "Any time you deal with explosives or even an overturned vehicle, there is a danger factor because of the fuel in the vehicle," Davidson said. The five-axle semitractor trailer was part of a convoy. Local authorities were helping to secure the cargo while awaiting the arrival of explosives experts from McAlester, Oklahoma. No other details were immediately available. Hugo is located about 120 miles south of Tulsa, close to the border with Texas. RELATED STORIES: For more US news, myCNN.com will bring you news from the areas and subjects you select.
