| Jersey shore fire guts Wildwood boardwalk stores
WILDWOOD, New Jersey (CNN) -- An early morning blaze Tuesday gutted at least four businesses along the boardwalk in Wildwood, a oceanside resort town in southern New Jersey. No injuries were reported; a chapel near the scene was untouched by flames but may have sustained water damage. There were no details on the cause of the fire, which began about 1:30 a.m. and was fueled by plastic toys and stuffed animals, authorities said. Some 120 firefighters from four communities fought the blaze. The fire comes just days before the Labor Day weekend that signals the traditional end of the summer tourist season. Wildwood is about 10 miles northeast of Cape May, another summer retreat at the southern tip of New Jersey.
