TV millionaire bride Conger's mother missing

LOS ANGELES, California (Reuters) -- Police searched Friday for the mother of TV's reluctant "Who Wants to Marry a Millionaire" bride Darva Conger, who was reported missing late Thursday after she was last seen exploring a Los Angeles museum with a friend.

Susan Harrison, 62, whose daughter Darva married a millionaire on television and then left almost immediately afterward, was last seen at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art late Thursday afternoon, the Ventura County Sheriff's Department said.

Harrison, who had a featured role in the 1957 Burt Lancaster film "Sweet Smell of Success," and a friend split up at the museum in the late afternoon to view different exhibits, Ventura County Sheriff's Sgt. Steve Bourke said.

Harrison's friend later left the museum to keep an appointment. It was unclear how Harrison had planned to get home. She apparently never made it.

On Thursday night, Harrison left a message on the friend's answering machine saying she was lost, Bourke said. The friend characterized Harrison's demeanor as disoriented.
