LOS ANGELES, California (CNN) -- Three people were injured when a United Airlines 747 struck a maintenance van at the Los Angeles International Airport.

  MESSAGE BOARD

An engine on the jet struck a United maintenance van on Thursday afternoon as the jet was taxiing for takeoff. Three workers on the van were sent to the hospital for observation, but their injuries did not appear to be serious, officials said.

None of the 367 people on board the plane was injured, and the passengers were scheduled to catch another flight to Hong Kong.

United Airlines is investigating to determine the cause of the accident.
