NEW YORK CITY, New York (CNN) --Slobodan Milosevic isn't the first ruler to pit his will against the will of his people and lose. And he probably won't be the last.
Milosevic fanned the flames of Serb nationalism and rode the popular uprising into power. And when he was no longer popular, the next wave washed him out of office.
